What goes around…

Fashions come and go, and sometimes I’m amazed that what one generation considers on trend seems to me like a repeat of something we all wore years ago.

The same could be said about home interiors and improvements, and while materials have undoubtedly improved over the years to offer better efficiencies, it’s been interesting to see a resurgence in interest in aluminium frames recently.

Now before you leap to the assumption that I’m talking about the type of double glazing typical of the late 70s and early 80s, many of which had problems with condensation forming on the inside, I’m talking about the Art Deco-style windows and doors found in heritage properties.

We’ve recently started working with a product from Aluco, which the manufacturer describes as ‘aluminium re-imagined’. It’s a lovely way to describe it because although the range includes the classic ‘steel frame’ doors and windows, the range is most definitely modern in its production, offering thermal and security benefits.

Alongside, the range includes sliding door and bi-fold doors, both contemporary products which allow homeowners to blend the division between their outdoor and interior spaces.

It’s curious to see how the past inspires the present and has created a new style which many homeowners along the coast are looking to add to their property, in turn creating a new ‘Norfolk style’.

One thing which never goes out of style is quality and, just like every product West Norfolk Glass installs, the Aluco range comes with a 10-year guarantee. If you’d like to find out more about Aluco and the full range of products we offer, visit our Hereford Way showroom.
