Double Glazing Window Fitter (Fenestration Installer)

Job purpose:
To install new or replacement windows, doors, conservatories and glazed curtain walls in all types of properties from commercial premises to private local households working with homeowners and local construction companies to maintain and renew traditional wooden, metal, and PVCu framed products. Working with singular, double, and triple-glazed units and secondary glazing inside existing windows, fascia, guttering and soffit work, Including cement board cladding. The job role is to be carried out by teams or individuals working with the use of power tools and hand skills.
Job duties:
• Removal of old windows and doors including alloy and Crittall.
• Measuring accurately/site survey for items to be fitted.
• Fix windows and doors in place ensuring they are level and secure, in accordance with GGF guidelines.
• Complying with all current building regulations.
• Ensure installations are watertight using the accurate, required sealants.
• Correct disposal of old and unused materials.
• Fascia, soffit, and guttering. Weatherboarding/cement board fitting.
• Delivering quality bespoke products and solutions.
• Repair and replace UPVC, aluminium, wooden doors, windows and bespoke products.
• Undertaking installations, repairs, and maintenance work as required.
• Receive and handle materials, using plant and hand machinery.
• Ensuring relevant documents are processed and completed in a timely manner.
• Use a digital tablet to record and assess contract requirements.
• Conduct work with minimal damage to the fabric of the property.
• Undertake visual inspections of all tools, equipment and vehicles ensuring they work correctly and reporting any faults.

• The ability to conduct work in accordance to the current legislation, British standards, codes or practice, safe systems of work and recognised industrial standards of work.
• The ability to deal courteously and effectively with clients, customers, and the public to maintain and enhance the reputation of the company.
Personal specification:
• Experience of working in private homes and commercial properties.
• Asbestos Aware. (UKATA)
• Exceptional timekeeping and work ethics.
• Holder of a trade qualification MTC at NVQ2 or equivalent.
• Holder of appropriate CSCS card (beneficial)
• DBS Enhance (beneficial)
• Ability to undertake trade tasks.
• Full driving license.
• PASMA qualification. (beneficial),
Hours and salary:
An average of 39 hours, Monday to Friday with additional occasional overtime which will include working indoors and outdoors sometimes at height and can be physically demanding.
Salary range £28,000 – £33,000 annually.
28 days holiday per year (includes bank holidays)
Progression:
With experience, you can become a senior fitter, surveyor, or estimator and possibly move into glazing sales or marketing.
